Time is flying

Its less than a week since it was Christmas. My mind is still fresh with all the sights from the Christmas markets we got to visit this time around.

I bet there is a huge profit made by the tradesmen in these markets. Especially because each of these markets are so elaborate in their set up but they are also non-existent within a matter of weeks. I am sure there is a lot of strategy and thought put into making sure that each market makes up for their return on investment. Whatever be it I am already looking forward to visiting them again next year.

Traditional Czech fare

Having S over always means an unique culinary experience besides enjoying long conversations. Since I loved the Czech dumplings so much last time we decided to get together and cook some authentic Czech food again. S is a great cook and all her tips and tricks on different aspects of cooking were invaluable. This time around we made potato dumplings, sauerkraut and a roasted chicken. The filling used for the chicken was completely made from scratch. S also made a biscuit cake with a raspberry cream filling which was delicious. Little bunny helped us around in the kitchen. I am definitely becoming a huge fan of traditional Czech fare.

Merry Christmas

Thought this year we would have a white snowy Chrístmas. But it turned out to be quite a warm day (+6 deg) actually. Hope to have some more snow in the coming days.
The last days have been so much fun. I was baking and cooking in complete earnestness. Our home looked all decked up and pretty. The new version of my chocolate fruit cake turned out quite well. It was a perfect time to meet with friends and enjoy some yummy food together. It was fun to watch little bunny open her gifts with so much of glee on her face.
Wishing all of you a wonderful holiday time!

A rendezvous with dinosaurs

The BBC arena show 'Walking with dinosaurs' was in town. The show itself is technology at its best combined with with all the entertaining aspects making you sit at the edge of your seats.

Little bunny and her Papa went to check it out and came back wowing and awing about the show.

The show would have been too loud for her sister, so bunny made sure that she tried to explain the details of the show in her own way. She got this cool dinosaur mask and she scared everyone who came near her :-)

Its snowing!!

Its lovely and white outside but deadly cold as well. Inside at home it has been really busy. Well you would have thought holiday season and definitely the time to put up your feet and relax. But it has been meeting up with friends over dinner, working on holiday cards with little bunny, cooking away and of course baking more cookies with little bunny.
Little bunny made sure that she had exactly the kind of cookies that she would like to share with her friends from kindergarten.

Yummy time

Still recovering from the yummy lunch at my friend S. She hosted a pre-Christmas lunch completely handmade by herself.

As always this means a complete treat to your senses.

Also got to taste some yummy poached pears served with a mascarpone cream....hmmm..was just delicious.

I used the chance and also made a spiced pumpkin pie.

All in all a wonderful time indeed.

Adventsbazar

Little bunny's kindergarten held their yearly advents bazaar again. This time it was great to see the objects on sale that were handcrafted some weeks back.

The morning started with all the children from the different groups getting together and singing lovely songs. This was followed by an open market where all of us could buy the lovely decorations. The kindergarten looked very colorful and festive.
